Message of support from President Sue Kelly for Forthcoming Skirting Science 2014
This is my second year as club president and my second chance to sing the praises of my amazing club members, and in particular the dedicated few who make up the Skirting Science 2014 Committee. These few women have completely organised and orchestrated this very popular annual event, which has already given quite a few hundred girls the opportunity to have a taste of a science based career. I am writing this with 3 days to go until our Skirting Science 2014 and I know that because of the total commitment, hard work and sense of purpose my club members have this will be another exceptionally successful day.

Launching Today- Careers Lab !
http://www2.nationalgrid.com/UK/Our-company/Education/Careers-Lab/
In an effort to try and inspire young students into STEM based careers yet another new initiative is being launched today. The message is clearly being stated that this, an industry led project, is to help counteract the skills shortages mainly in STEM based career opportunities. This echoes the objectives of the Skirting Science project which is now in its 6th year , and which has proved so successful that the places available to schools in Somerset for this annual event are oversubscribed. Skirting Science is run by a group from Soroptimist International of Weston super Mare, an organisation which aims to educate, empower and enable opportunities for women and girls worldwide.
